Needle Deflection
The forces on the mono-beveled needles commonly used in dentistry cause needle deflection, which can result in missed mandibular block injections. The Wand® handpiece allows the use of a bi-directional rotation insertion technique to change the orientation of the bevel as the needle penetrates through tissue. This 180-degree, back and forth rotation allows the needle to track in a straight path to the injection site in a mandibular block injection causing greater accuracy and a more rapid onset of anesthesia.
