Modified PDL Injections
The CompuDent(TM) administered Modified PDL can be used as the primary injection to profoundly anesthetize any tooth and differs significantly from the traditional PDL injection administered with the syringe or Ligmaject. These devices require that a relatively small volume of anesthetic be delivered under tremendous pressure, while the CompuDent allows a larger volume to be delivered under controlled pressure. The controlled flow of anesthetic allows the solution to infiltrate into the medullary bone around the tooth, making this a comfortable intraosseous injection without the necessity of an invasive procedure. The onset of anesthesia is rapid, but the duration of the anesthetic effect lasts for 30-40 minutes.
